UX/UI Designer and Visual Artist

About

“A determined soul will do more with a rusty monkey wrench than a loafer will accomplish with all the tools in a machine shop.” - Robert Hughes

Call me Rene but feel free to make something else up.

I'm a Visual Artist, UX Designer, Musician, and self-proclaimed ramen expert 🍜, but above all, I'm a visual organizer. Whether it's arranging images, thoughts, spaces, or ideas, I enjoy bringing order and simplicity to all that is chaotic.

A Cat made me an Artist…

You know, when I was a little kid, my all-time favorite Christmas gift was this crayon box jam-packed with 64 different colors, complete with a nifty sharpener attached at the back. But wait, the real icing on the cake? It came with a Garfield coloring book! Oh man, I'd spend hours coloring away page after page and then i’d sit back to admire my masterpieces. I'd go through each page, carefully analyzing my color choices, seeing what worked and didn’t.

That Garfield coloring book sparked my love for art, leading me on this wild journey to the big city to study fine arts and showcase my work in several exhibitions across the city. So, here's a shoutout to you, Garfield! Thanks for kickstarting my artistic adventure!

From Mom's Kitchen to Ramen Adventures

I've been cooking since I was eight years old. It all began with making breakfast for my mom and assisting her in cutting carrots for her catering business. I had always cooked meals that reminded me of home.

That changed when I tried my first Ramen in New York City. I wanted to learn how to make my own! It's been a solid 7 years of me pushing the limits with each bowl... and let me tell you, it's paid off!

Here are a few examples of the ramen I’ve cooked in the past, fusing Latin American flavors with those of Japan.

I studied Jazz in New Orleans

In my opinion, there's no city quite like New Orleans when it comes to talented musicians. During my time studying Jazz there, I quickly realized that while music would remain a passionate pursuit for me, it wouldn't be my career path.
I still take my guitar on every trip I take though….

Despite not boasting the same level of skill as my peers, I cherished every concert I played in. These days, I still rock out on my guitar or drums and drive my neighbors a little crazy, so I've got that going for me at least!
